Mickey Mouse Pop-It Chocolate Bar
Make a Mickey Mouse Pop-It Chocolate Bar the Easy Way With the Latest Chocolate Craze
Hey, friends! So my boys asked me to make this Mickey Mouse Pop-It Chocolate Bar last week. I had no idea what they were talking about but after seeing them on TikTok they were desperate to try it, and as we had a Pop-It Toy in the house [which I keep calling a Pop-Pop toy and annoying them with], and seeing as it was Mickey Mouse shaped, I thought I’d give it a try! You know I love my Disney themed fun foods!
For this recipe we used Cadbury Chocolate as always but you could try any, and you can add any type of candy that fits in the little holes of your Pop-It Toy – we used skittles because they’re tangy and the boys like that contrast with the chocolate, but you can use anything. I might make one with Peanut M&Ms for Gav. Maybe.
What are Pop-It Toys?
Pop-It Toys are clever little fidget toys that I wish I had been able to buy when I was teaching. They’re a reusable equivalent of bubble wrap and come in all kinds of shapes and colours. If I’d had them in class everyone would have had one on the carpet so they could fidget with them and be able to concentrate [including me].
What is the Pop-It Chocolate Bar TikTok Craze?
I knew about the Pop-It toys as they’re everywhere on Amazon and in Southampton, but as I’m not a TikTok viewer [gasp] unless it’s Lubalin and his internet dramas or Max Kruemcke and Gouda the cow, I had no idea about this craze. It’s so cute though – and I can see us making these for parties and movie nights. I got to thinking what else I could experiment with.
One word of caution though – don’t forget to wash your Pop-It toy thoroughly before making your Pop-It Chocolate Bar – if it doesn’t specifically say food safe I do worry, but this is silicone and as long as it’s clean, and you don’t bake this, everything seems to indicate that we’re fine. I’ll let you know in a couple of days if we aren’t, haha. Bleurgh.
How to Make Your Mickey Mouse Pop-It Chocolate Bar
Or any shape; Lyoto is making an Among Us Pop-It Chocolate bar this week he told me. The recipe is below and it’s so simple to do. Here’s a picture of the chocolate all melted in. This time I actually used a bain marie to melt the chocolate after my Mother in Law’s microwave decided it was going to burn all of my chocolate no matter what. Bain maries are easier than you think – just pop some water in a pan on the stove, and a glass bowl like pyrex over the top. The water heats and melts the chocolate fast, and you can see the progress without guessing in the microwave what five more seconds might do… haha.
The finished article below! It was easy to peel out, and the chocolate snaps easily into strips. It got the thumbs up from our boys.
