THERE ARE EVENTS, AND THEN THERE ARE *EVENTS* SISTERMag AND CEWE
If you read my previous post, you’ll know that SISTERMag AND CEWE made all of my photography dreams come true by inviting me to visit Photokina in Cologne, Germany. The morning after arriving, after terrifying the kindly and patient taxi-driver by persisting with my awful German questioning about the area including attempted sign language to try and discover the name of the river we had been walking alongside that morning [it was the Rhine], our car slowed at the entrance to an industrial looking courtyard, leading to a building with a hand drawn welcome sign.
As we approached building 28 through bamboo and hanging ferns, I gazed at the pink, peach and gold pastel balloons dotted around the entrance, bobbing about in the breeze and the closer we got, the wider my mouth must have gotten in awe. It was the most beautiful, most perfect, most ME setting ever. I fell head over heels in love – whilst simultaneously being annoyed with myself for wearing an Autumn coloured dress when the theme was so pretty in pink.
Our programme from SISTERMag and CEWE for the day made me absolutely giddy with excitement. Brittany from The House That Lars Built was giving a keynote to our gathering about her beginnings and path to becoming a DIY blogger, and we were to have styling classes, crafting classes, learn all about CEWE and their products AND take in a photowalk in central Köln. At the end of the day we were all coming together for cocktails and a delicious meal, before heading off for a good night’s sleep so that we could face Photokina ready for action the next day.
I had to restrain myself from taking too many photos – and to just experience parts of the day without having my camera pressed to my face constantly.
I’m going to stop talking now and show you some of the photos of our lunch and the beautiful day that I was so lucky to be a part of.
During the day we took a photo tour of Cologne [coming up in my next instalment], and upon return the room was dressed beautifully for dinner. Two lavender mojitos and a scrumptious meal with fantastic conversation and I was completely wiped out.
Coming up next: A photo tour of Cologne.
