NO BATTLE REQUIRED: BASSETTS VITAMINS #MYBASSETTSVITS
When it comes to vitamins and my boys, I have tried. And when I say tried, I mean I tried all of them that were recommended. I was out of options. The only person to try harder to get essential fatty acids and B vitamins into a child was my mom when she created “pretty fish” [sardines on toast disguised with sprinkles] for me in a desperate bid to get me to bulk up as a child. And if you’re wondering, yep, I ate them. Sprinkles are sprinkles.
We have three boys and Jens is our oldest and wisest when it comes to healthy food. Despite my fears he was going to survive his early childhood on cheesy leek pasta, he’s somehow turned into a raw vegetable and seafood eating wonder-child. And besides the growing of said vegetables, none of it is down to me, I’m sure, because Lyoto would live on pistachios and crackers, chicken nuggets and waffles, chocolate biscuits and apple juice, and Hero would plump for jam covered bagels for life given free reign of the pantry.
Given that the younger boys [4 and 6] don’t have the palates that I’d hope for yet, I do worry about their nutrition. Not that I worry about what other parents think of my boys’ diets – I gave up worrying about other people’s opinions on my children quite a few years ago now – but I do want better for them than they seem determined to ingest.
I’m no scientist but I do know that Omega-3 and vitamins like B5 which contributes to mental performance and B6 to support normal psychological function are important. Jensen is a fish eater whereas my younger two aren’t [yet – I still hold that hope and Hero is getting there, sloooowly].
When I was little though, I had a favourite multivitamin. I looked forward to taking it every day because I remember it tasting like orange sunshine – so I’d hoped for the same with my boys. We’ve tried quite a few vitamins and I’d eat them because I know it’s good for my boys to have them, but really, seriously, most of them have been just horrid.
When we were invited to try the Bassetts Vitamins Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles, I held my breath popping out a vitamin from the foil package because I was just so scared they were going to have that taste so familiar with vitamins, and I’d be stuck in a corner. Much, much to my delight, they’re SO good. So good that my sister’s children, asked her to buy them for their family too. And that’s a true story, not from make-believe-blogger-storyland. These are juicy, tasty, refreshing vitamins and I’d quite like to take their Adult Multivitamins. Orange is my favourite flavour and despite not liking chewy vitamins, I do love these. There’s no awful aftertaste at all.
Anyhow, they are loved. So loved – and so I’m a happy mommy that Bassetts Vitamins has launched Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles. The boys are constantly on the go – and I do mean constantly. After school as we live near the beach and the forest, they’re climbing, running, leaping, falling – always something and never stopping. Anything goes and although I try and feed them as well as they will allow me to. I’ll repeat that I’m no scientist and I’ve no idea whether my boys are missing out on certain essentials on a daily basis and so I love the surety that comes with a daily multivitamin – and that help is packed with natural flavours and colours, and no added sugar. I love Bassetts Vitamins even more as it’s not a battle to administer the extra help in being healthy – they smile, and put their little mitts out for them, one a day.
We’re back at school now and I’m more than happy knowing that Bassetts Vitamins contain Vitamin B6 to support normal psychological function and Vitamin B5 which contributes to mental performance to support a smart way to start the day, but this weekend after taking the vitamins for a few days, I actually asked the boys to describe what it felt like to eat one.
Apparently, they love the little faces on the Bassetts Vitamins, they taste juicy, but they decided to recreate their feelings below much to the delight of the lifeguards. There’s never a dull moment at the beach [sorry, lifeguards] and so Lyoto decided to go first, but Hero wasn’t to be outdone. Check out the tongue at the side of the mouth – that’s serious, man.
So, if you’re in the same boat as me with your little ones and have fussy eaters, or you’re having trouble getting yours to eat a vitamin, honestly, try the new Bassetts Vitamins Omega-3 +Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles – they’re around £5.50 for 30 pastilles, and although they aren’t a substitute for a healthy and balanced diet, they help us parents whilst we are trying to get there, with no battles involved!
