MICKEY MOUSE FUN FOOD – MUMMY TOAST
Today I made these for lunch and smiled. Who doesn’t want to eat Mickey Mouse Fun Food like these Mummy Toasts and warm up their tummy? Here’s how you can make these too, in less than ten minutes!
So I love pizza, but these were so much quicker and nothing went soggy bottomed either. All you need for your own Mickey Mouse Fun Food is:
- Bread [to toast]
- Cheese
- Tomato puree [I used Dolmio garlic and onion bolognese sauce]
- Pitted Olives
STEP ONE: MICKEY TOAST
Toast the bread of your choice [I only had white in] and cut into Mickey Mouse shapes. I have quite a few cutters but the one I used was the yellow plastic one we got from a cake decorating magazine a few years ago. It fills the whole piece of bread and so I didn’t feel bad about discarding the crusts.
STEP TWO: ADD TOMATO
I made these toast from whatever was in the cupboard and my bolognese sauce of choice is the garlic and onion Dolmio jar. I spooned some on each toast. Don’t be too sparing with it, you want to taste it. Haha.
STEP THREE: SAY CHEESE
I love cheese and so I grated and sliced some to make Mickey look more old and Mummy like. First the finely grated went on, and then the strips of cheese. I used the boys’ sandwich cheese that they like because it was easy to cut and each strip attached nicely to the other when overlapped. It took seconds to do each Mickey Mummy Toast and then I added the chopped olive eyes too.
STEP FOUR: GRILL TIME
Everyone likes their cheese grilled differently – so keep an eye on yours when it’s under the grill! Just a few minutes and I had lunch ready for me!
STEP FIVE: ENJOY MICKEY MOUSE FUN FOOD!
Even though they took around ten minutes to make, remember they’re going to be hot – cheese and tomato need time to cool!
