THE WEEKEND BOX SUBSCRIPTION

Sharing is caring!

Since getting back from Bluestone National Park, the boys have been suffering with a severe case of cabin fever…and as patient as I like to think I am, my last nerve is beginning to twang like a string on a rusty banjo.
When the postman arrived early Saturday morning I was so, sooo relieved to see him holding a colourful little parcel, [the Weekend Box], that I might even have smiled at him without the aid of coffee.

The Weekend Box is a fortnightly subscription service for 3-6 year olds, which is full of four crafts to complete.  This box’s topic was the Aztecs.  Aztecs equal chocolate.

This weekend’s tasks were Aztec Parrot, Aztec Coaster, Aztec Prints and of course, Aztec Hot Chocolate.  Each task comes with instructions and a little bag of supplies – and a packet of stickers to proudly display on each task sheet as they are completed.  When all tasks are completed, on the inside of the box is a certificate to colour in with an “I’m Finished” sticker.

The tasks are simple enough for little ones to get on with by themselves [besides the hot chocolate] and succeed in completing, and each one is creative enough to engage them for a little while too.  The supplies are basic [except for the feathers for Aztec parrot, those were a luxury item we never expected!] such as string, sugar paper and foam and it made me realise how much can be achieved craft wise with very little supplies – generally if I’m crafting with the boys it involves a £30 trip to our local craft store.

The weekend box costs £3.75 for the first box and £7.50 for a fortnightly delivery thereafter – HOWEVER….  Your first box is free if you use our code SARAJAYNE166!  With the weather as soggy as it is in Hampshire at the moment, and the coughs and colds as rife as they are here too, if you have little ones aged 3-6, snap one up and have fun creating!

Look out for our creations on our Facebook page this week!

Disclosure:  We were sent a Weekend Box to review in return for our honest opinions.

  1. I've heard of these boxes but never seen a review for one, I think they are a good idea to have in the cupboard not sure I'd want to sign up to a regular delivery

  2. This looks like so much fun! I haven't heard of this company before, but it looks like something that would be right up our alley. My daughter's six, will be 7 in June- do you find that they are more suited for younger kids? I know you said they're designed for 4-6 year olds, but I'm curious if they're suited more for the 4 or 5 year olds?

  3. This is a brilliant idea for the little ones. We didn't have things like this for them when my boys were little, it sure would have been a lifesaver on many a winter afternoon. They need to make them for teenagers, so I can keep them out of my hair now!

  4. Awww these are just so cute! I love the idea of a themed box, it would be great as an educational tool as well as interest kids. They really love cooking, bright colors and all of that stuff. I have never heard of this before and I would definitely check it out! It looks perfect for a rainy day or day snowed in. They would love making this!

  6. I am sure the people of NY who are experiencing a snow blizzard would love this to entertain their kiddies. Unfortunately I dont have kids or know any kids between 3-6 to get a subscription myself but its so educational I love the concept! I love learning about new sub boxes so thanks for sharing!

  7. Sounds like a great sub box, never heard of it before but sounds like a great one to keep the little ones busy during these horrid winters when no one can seem to do anything outside. Thanks for sharing this will send to my SIL

  8. This sounds like a great idea for my nieces and nephew! I haven't heard of this subscription box before, but it seems like it would be able to keep my lovelies busy when they're staying by my house. I hate having them glued to the TV. I'll look into these a bit further. Thanks for the share!

  9. This is a box that my daughter would love. I need to sign up for it. I never heard about this subscription box but it's perfect. I wish I had today to keep the kids busy since we are snowed in.

  10. I love doing arts and crafts with my children. This box sounds like a good idea – crafts for the children and hot chocolate for you. That's how it works, right? 😉

  11. The weekend box is such a fab idea. I love that it incorporates arts and crafts for the little ones to make a do too, far better than spending the weekend in front of the TV! I'd love to receive boxes like this when my boy is a bit older, right now he won't stay still long enough to participate in craft time!
