CHIP ‘N’ DALE’S CAMPFIRE SING-A-LONG
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is a short Friendship Boat ride from the Magic Kingdom and the perfect way to end your day in the parks with some marshmallows over the fire and some songs with Chip ‘n’ Dale.
We hopped on a friendship boat early and headed over for a wander around the resort.
CAN I GO TO THE CAMPFIRE?
Yes! All guests at Walt Disney World are welcome. Anyone can head over to the campground and take part. You don’t need a park ticket to attend either – you just need to get there.
HOW MUCH DOES CHIP ‘N’ DALE’S CAMPFIRE SING-A-LONG COST?
The Campfire Sing-a-long is free, but if you’re after marshmallows or S’mores, you need to buy or bring your own – it’s free to use the campfire though!
HOW DO I FIND THE CAMPFIRE?
So if you’re at a Disney Park, you can take Disney Transport to the resort. If you’re driving, park up and there’s a shuttle which will take you. There’s a store there where you can buy snacks and drinks – but you’re welcome to take your own. Gav and Jens decided on slushies on the store porch before we headed over to meet our friends at the campfire.
CAN I BUY S’MORES AT THE CAMPFIRE?
Yes! Our lovely American friends bought some with them for us but we also bought the huge roasting sticks and extra when we all ran out at the Chuckwagon snack bar near the campfire.
Roasting Sticks were around $0.60 each, I think a S’mores kit was about $9 and a bag of marshmallows was $4. You can also buy hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, drinks and ice cream.
CAMPFIRE SINGING WITH CHIP ‘N’ DALE
So the Campfire singing is led by a guitar playing cowboy who is joined by Chip ‘n’ Dale. They were dressed for Hallowe’en when we visited, and took to the stage to chat and sing with our cowboy host. We all sat on benches around the campfire site and chatted to each other whilst the boys wandered back and forwards to the campfire with their marshmallows and roasting sticks.

CAN I GET A PHOTO WITH CHIP ‘N’ DALE?
Yes – they have a little porch set up just behind the campfire and photo time will be announced. We were also given a bag of candy by them for each boy when they had their photo taken as it was Hallowe’en – even though Lyoto had fallen asleep by then!
HALLOWE’EN AND THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN
We were really lucky to be at the Campfire when it was Hallowe’en and halfway through the singing, it was discovered that Chip ‘n’ Dale had taken the Headless Horseman’s pumpkin head….and he wasn’t happy. Cue lots of panicking from the cowboy, and the far off galloping sounds of the Headless Horseman, who stampeded through the campfire searching for his head. It was one of those moments you can’t quite believe is real. Everything went pitch black and suddenly there he was, horse stomping and snorting – and Chip ‘n Dale hiding with the head.
POINTS TO NOTE ABOUT CHIP ‘N’ DALE’S CAMPFIRE SING-A-LONG – WITH THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN
Arrive early for a good spot – and to let the kids run about too before the campfire starts. It’s so much fun just walking around the resort before the show to see to decorations of people staying on site with their huge RVs.
Be prepared for people to set up camp chairs in front of you, even though you’ve arrived early and sat on the front bench. Yes, it’s annoying, but it happens.
Remember it’s a campfire, and fires can be dangerous. We never let our boys roast by themselves.
This looks brilliant – i wish we had went to this!
This was one of the highlights of our trip – I hope you get to go! Thank you for reading!
We missed out on this , I had no idea it was free to attend.
My granddaughter would really love this.
This looks so wonderful!
