AUGUST DEGUSTABOX
If you remember, our August Degustabox arrived just before we left for our summer holiday in Wales, and it looked delicious! We’ve been trying a few of the products over the past couple of weeks and our favourites from this month’s box have been:
Willy Chase’s Fit Corn – £2.19
This was apple cider flavoured, and my palate is clearly much less refined when it comes to popcorn because all I could think was that I was eating the dessert equivalent of fish and chips with the fish. It was SO good. Everyone else in my house looked at the packet, tried a few and walked away. I’m not a popcorn eater but you know what? I’ve found the popcorn for me! Best popcorn ever, and the price is brilliant too.
Dorset Cereals Bircher Muesli – £3.49
We love Dorset Cereals but I’d never tried this variety before. I mixed them with apple juice and yoghurt and they were SO good. Mornings aren’t as glum any longer thanks to the August Degustabox – I wait until the two big boys have gone to school though, haha.
Tabasco Sweet and Sticky Barbecue Sauce – £1.99
We used this on our holiday BBQ and our chicken was delicious! Not too sticky, but just enough.
Get More Multivitamins Lemon and Lime Drink – £1.45
The boys took this one and LOVED it. It’s a fantastic way to get vitamins into the boys whilst they think they’re drinking something naughty.
A few of the other products in the August Degustabox box were…
Nutripot – £2.49 per pot
Since Gav was at work and I had friends coming over, for two days I’ve enjoyed eating these pots. Moroccan Cous Cous and Aromatic Thai Noodles. I normally associate the word Thai with a lemongrass taste and when I ate these noodles I felt more of a mild Indian spices flavour. The Moroccan cous cous was pleasant but neither pot really tickled my tastebuds. I would eat them again, but the weren’t tasty enough for me to reach for them in the supermarket sadly – unless they were the only healthy option on a lunch break, because food containing over 50% of your RDA of vitamins and minerals is pretty amazing.
Rakusen’s Snackers – £1.29 [plain] £1.49 [gluten free]
Crackers are generally a big hit in our family. Sadly these weren’t. Even the mister, who enjoys crackers for their plain taste, wasn’t impressed. I would actually avoid buying these sadly.
Oloves Olives [RRP £1]
These were pleasantly surprising. I’m not an olive eater, but we chopped these into some chicken linguine and they were delicious.
We’ve still to try the…
- Clipper Lime & Ginger Green Tea
- Geeta’s Curry Pastes [Rogan Josh and Tikka Masala]
- Geeta’s Premium Mango Chutney
- Fentiman’s Sparkling Lime and Jasmine Drink
- Mahou Cinco Estrellas Lager
We’re looking forward to September’s box! If you’d like to subscribe you can use code BLDEG15 to get £7 off!
We were gifted our August Degustabox in return for our honest opinions.
I’ve heard such a lot about Degustabox. This looks really good for the price.
we got the same box this year, I was a massive fan of the tea 🙂
This looks like a really awesome box. I wonder if they have a sister site in the states. I’ll have to check it out.
Some of these sound like great products – especially the corn and vitamin drink.
Whoo I love the idea of the Degustabox, I love the idea of trying out new things each month 🙂
Wow I am loving the contents. What a fab box.
It had me sold at Dorset Cereal – a great selection!
I think this is quite a good selection of products and not a bad box x
