4 Different Ways To Experience Disneyland Paris With Your Kids
For any family living in Europe, Disneyland Paris is the holy grail of family holidays. It’s the place you have to take your kids at least once while they’re young; you’ll create memories that stick with them forever.
Obviously, planning a trip to Disneyland can get very expensive, very quickly. Today, we’re showing you three different ways to experience this wonderful adventure park as a family. We’ve tried to include some of the most budget-friendly ideas possible, moving all the way up to the most expensive ones. Each one has pros and cons, so see which one you like the most!
Option 1: A Day Trip
Living in the UK gives you the unique privilege of only being a short train journey away from Disneyland Paris. The Eurostar has a direct service that does from London straight to the park. The best thing is, it only takes 2 hours and 49 minutes!
Get up bright and early, hop on the train and spend the whole day in Disneyland. The train tickets will set you back a couple of hundred pounds, but you can get better rates by travelling outside of the school holidays.
Still, it’s a fraction of the cost of going to Disney and staying in a hotel for a few nights. You will literally save around a thousand pounds if not more. A whole day in Disneyland Paris is still pretty decent as you can go on lots of rides and just take in the experience with your kids.
Of course, the main downside is that you don’t get to spend a lot of time there. You may get unlucky with queues, which is why you should always buy a Fast Pass! If you’re looking for the tightest budget option, this is definitely the one for you.
Option 2: Stay In Paris And Commute In
Why don’t you combine your Disneyland holiday with a trip to Paris? The park is a short train or car journey from Paris, so you can happily stay in a hotel there rather than in the park.
As a result, you will save lots of money. Disneyland hotels are super expensive and the package deals will make your eyes water. They can sometimes be worth it for an immersive experience, but if you want to save money, staying in Paris is a smarter option.
Look for an affordable Airbnb or hotel in Paris with decent transportation links to the park. Every morning, you journey to Disneyland and enjoy all the fun you can muster. It allows you to stay for multiple days without completely breaking the bank.
The main disadvantages of this option are the travel and costs. You’ll be travelling a lot every day with your family, especially if you stay quite far away from the park to save money. Similarly, it is still more expensive than taking a day trip. So, you have to weigh up whether or not it’s worth spending an extra couple of days in Disneyland Paris.
Option 3: Road Trip
If you own a campervan or motorhome, you have access to a unique thing that can make your Disney holiday so much better. There are plenty of campsites near Disneyland where you can park and stay overnight. They’re more affordable than hotels and you don’t have to pay for any other form of transportation as you drive yourself there every morning.
This allows you to explore the park for as many days as you can afford. It gives your kids a chance to go on all the rides, take in all the shows and see the different parades. You don’t have to rush the trip like you would if you only went for a day. At the same time, you don’t spend as much money as you would if you stayed in a hotel. Or, you could spend the same amount, but it would mean you get more days in the park! It’s a fantastic way to create lifelong memories with your family, but without breaking the bank.
As a benefit, you can merge this road trip into a larger family holiday. Disneyland Paris could only be a few days of your trip. Once you’ve finished, you can drive around Europe taking in some of the other amazing sights and scenes. Arm yourself with a checklist for motorhoming in Europe and you’ll be ready for anything.
Clearly, there’s one very specific problem with this option: you need a motorhome. If you don’t have one, it’s not viable for you.
Option 4: The Complete Disney Experience
Make no mistake about it, this is the most expensive way to experience Disneyland Paris. It’s something you’ll have to save up for, but it is undoubtedly the best way to get the full Disney experience for you and your kids.
You’ll buy one of the Disneyland Paris package deals that put you in a hotel on-site. This will typically include breakfast at one of the many restaurants every day, where your kids will get to interact with all their favourite Disney characters. You also receive early access to the park before all the other visitors arrive, so you can sneak a few goes on your favourite rides every morning. There is also the possibility to arrange exclusive character meetups – and you have access to both parks there on one ticket.
So, you do get some additional benefits, but there’s no escaping the weighty price tag. It’s one of those things you should only do if your kids are extremely passionate about Disney. If you feel that this will be the best trip they ever go on, then go for the full shebang.
And there you have it; four different ways to experience Disneyland Paris with your kids. Which option do you think you’ll try? If you want a quick and affordable experience, opt for the day trip. If you have a motorhome or campervan, option three is arguably the best one for you. If not, and you want to visit it for more than one day, go for option two and stay in Paris. Or, if you want the best possible Disneyland experience, save up for option four.
