Ready for the Hatchimals week of WOW!, we’ve been sent the Hatchimals Glitter Salon Playset to show you! There are more playsets than ever available now but we’ve never actually played with one yet as we’ve always gotten so excited over the CollEGGtibles themselves – so all three of the Jones Boys were interested in reviewing this one because, well, there were Hatchimals about and there was glitter involved. What’s not to love?
HATCHIMALS GLITTER SALON PLAYSET
Hatchimals are our thing here. We love them. Ever since we hatched our first collEGGtible, we’ve been hooked – if you’re interested in collecting here are a few of the others we’ve reviewed:
We thought that the Glitter Salon Playset was perfect for this time of year because it’s sparkly and feels Christmassy – and the Royal Snow Ball Hatchimals are getting ready for their festivities apparently, according to the boys.
Yes, there are NEW Hatchimals too! Royal Snow Ball Hatchimals CollEGGtibles – Season 6.5!
COLLECT 100 ROYAL SNOW BALL HATCHIMAL CHARACTERS
The Royal Snow Ball eggs are sparkly, glitter covered ones with little hearts and crowns on their shells and they hatch as usual with some rubbing on the heart until it changes colour and then gently pressing until it hatches through! We hatched Cozy Aligoo whose accessory was a little teeny cup for hot chocolate and he was fuzzy and cute, Snowflake Macoo hatched with a little Snowman toy which Hero fell in love with, and Lyoto hatched a Frosty Mousewift complete with a little skirt to wear.
The Royal Snow Ball series 6.5 have Frosty Friends, Royal Treasures, Polar Royals, Snowflake Squad, Cozy Crest, and the Jewellery Box Dozen Hatchimals CollEGGtibles, with Common, Royal Rare, Ultra Rare and Limited Edition.
UNBOXING THE HATCHIMALS GLITTER SALON PLAYSET
The Hatchimals Glitter Salon Playset was easy enough to get into and the three little twist lock screws underneath were the easiest we’ve come across. However, you will need scissors to undo the twine knot underneath unless you have strong nails, and to snip the accessories part free.

We used our Royal Hatch and Royal Snow Ball CollEGGtibles at the Glitter Spa. If you’ve never hatched these, before, they’re even cuter than ever! Inside each Royal CollEGGtibles egg, there’s a CollEGGtible and an accessory to discover which you can mix and match and share accessories on all of your new friends!
THE HATCHIMALS HIT THE GLITTER SALON PLAYSET
They all headed off to the Glitter Salon Playset for a spruce up. We followed the instructions and it was so simple I just had to show the boys once and they were off. They’d sparkled and glittered the Hatchimals – and then moved onto other things they could fit into the chamber. We have sparkly army soldiers, LEGO bricks and LEGO people – and they did their nails too.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER ABOUT THE HATCHIMALS GLITTER SALON PLAYSET?
The glitter doesn’t disperse brilliantly to the top part of the Hatchimals as well as the bottom obviously as all the action is done by flipping glitter about and it’s not equally distributed or blown. Saying that, it did the job well enough to make the boys very happy.
The glitter was still tacky a few hours later and made the Hatchimals sticky – but again, they didn’t seem to mind at all and carried on playing regardless.
HATCHIMALS GLITTER SALON PLAYSET VERDICT
THE JONES BOYS’ TOYS VERDICT
We have a lot of glitter and a lot of mini toys and so this is a winner. It’s a toy that can be used over and over and doesn’t have batteries to run out and so this gets high marks. Added to this, it’s Hatchimals and we do love them.
MOM’S VERDICT [HOLDER OF PURSE STRINGS]
The playset is a lower price point than many playsets at the moment, and sits at around £20 – we’d happily buy this as a gift for someone. Our only grumble would be that one of the Hatchimals is already hatched in the set which takes away some of the fun, and the amount of stickers provided for the set is minimal which seems pointlessly tight on the part of the manufacturer and makes the toy feel more disposable in a sense. A roll of stickers would feel more like the toy was worthy of longer play if that makes sense. Still, no batteries required. These words are music to my ears. Hatchimals are always beautifully made and the playset is no EGGception [sorry].
This looks and sounds amazing! My girls would love it!
