SIMPLE ELF ON THE SHELF CRAFTS
AD – We were compensated for this post
We’ve had elves in our home now for ten years. And I say elves, because there are 6 of them. It’s a team effort each Christmas and after ten years, even though we’re more prepared, we’re less full or original ideas.
For this reason, we’re always on the lookout for Elf on the Shelf crafts to help our little Elves bring joy to the boys when they wake up in the morning. Design Bundles got in touch and came to our rescue this year by sending us a box of fun activities for our Elves, and the boys have been enjoying them SO much.
Who Are Design Bundles?
Design Bundles is a site which offers exclusive deals on high quality premium craft and design resources and not only that, but free design resources too! There are free design resources available each week, crafting fun, and also savings of up to 96% from thousands of independent designers who are able to register and sell their designs – which means that there’s a huge variety on the site and something to suit everyone’s crafting style! I love that they have a lifetime download guarantee, and unlimited support – which is pretty much everything you want from a company.
Elf on the Shelf crafts from Design Bundles
Initially, if you saw our Instagram Stories, Elvis the Elf arrived to join our gang of merry mischief makers in his own isolation jar. The boys thought it was the best, and we popped in little notes from other elves at the North Pole saying that Father Christmas was well and to remind them to write their Christmas wish letters to him soon. Then the elves settled in and got down to business…
On day two, we were so excited to open one of our packages and reveal a baking set that Elvis brought with him from Craft and Crumb which was absolutely delicious! In the envelope was a pot holder that I fell in love with and which will actually never be used as a potholder, ever because it’s too gorgeous, and a brilliant template to do elfy footprints.
A couple of days later, a mini elf mask was left by the elves to be discovered – and some materials for crafting more elf wear. Most of Lyoto’s class were beside themselves seeing the little teeny mask and they went home to ask their own elves to bring them some PPE too!
Yesterday, our boys woke to find that the elves had bought with them the cutest little Milk For Santa bottle, and Hero got all excited and decided we needed to be making cookies ready for Father Christmas. The bottle is being closely guarded, ready for the big night in a few days! They even hunted out some red and green straws for it!
Other Ideas
Elvis arrived with so many other ideas for us – here are some of our favourites!
Scavenger Hunt – We usually do this on Boxing Day, the Santa’s Sleigh Scavenger Hunt, but there’s no harm in more! The elves have one for you to enjoy!
Write to Father Christmas – get some cute Christmas stationery and stickers, and get writing!
Window Decorations – The Elves have put up a window sticker and have some for you to play with too!
Acts of Kindness Day – The elves have a list of good deeds – how many can you perform for your family?
Homemade Decorations – The elves are sat with craft supplies to make some baubles!
Christmas Cards – The elves are sat with mini Christmas card blanks, with full sized ones for you to create!
Movie Day – The elves are sat with little snack cups or cupcake wrappers filled with popcorn or treats, ready to join in!
This Elf on the Shelf Advent has been so much easier thanks to Design Bundles – I wish I’d discovered them earlier – I’m already planning Elf on the Shelf crafts for next year’s elfcapades!
