Summer Blog Challenge: Day #7: A Picture of Something That Makes Me Happy
Yes,I realise that most Momma bloggers have probably posted a photo of their family, and I would too except that I decided that some”thing” gave me a license to post a photo of a possession instead without feeling guilty. One that I love very much.
I’m posting a photo of the caricature that was drawn for us on one of the last days of our honeymoon. We were staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge after having been on our Disney Cruise to Castaway Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas and this particular evening we had been to Victoria and Albert’s Restaurant at the Grand Floridian, Walt Disney World’s Flagship Resort. It was one of the highlights of our honeymoon and the food was just out-of-this-world-exquisite.
Upon arriving back at our hotel, rather merry I should add, we saw the Caricaturist drawing a little girl’s picture and it was brilliant. I’d been after a caricature of us since I saw them at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort during our planning session 7 months earlier, and I knew it was now or never since we were going home in a couple of days.
So, slightly tiddly, we waited our turn and chatted with the family having theirs done. Then it was our turn. We sat in front of the Disney Animator (who, it turned out, had worked on several Disney films and told us how in each one he had worked, he had somehow incorporated a personality trait of his children into a character) and chatted whilst he asked us if there was anything we wanted in the picture. All we could think of was a croc (of course) and then we just sat, laughed and waited for about twenty minutes.
Twenty minutes later, we were presented with the drawing above. I love it. It’s my favourite souvenir from our honeymoon and it reminds me of how blissfully happy and free from everyday stresses we were that month, but moreover it shows me what a wonderful man I married, to have made all of my dreams, right down to a drawing, come true.
