DISNEY DOC MCSTUFFINS TOY HOSPITAL BAG
I remember being told about a Disney cartoon that was about to break onto the screens of Disney Junior about 4 years ago when Jensen was about 2 years old. My best friend in the USA has a little boy of the same age and she was keeping me up to date on what was happening in the world of pre-school Disney goings-on.

For those of you who don’t know, Doc [Dottie] McStuffins is the daughter of a paediatrician and a stay at home dad [at least I think he is] and is around 6 years old. She wants to follow in her mom’s footsteps and with the help of a magic stethoscope which brings her toys to life, Doc takes care of toys and dolls in her and her friends’ lives. The cast includes the cutest little toys such as Stuffy [a blue dragon], Lambie, Chilly [a snowman who believes he’s real and lives in fear of melting] and my own favourite, Nurse Hallie the hippo, who tends to Doc’s surgery.
Our two oldest boys bought Doc’s first doctor’s bag in 2013 when we were in Walt Disney World and they loved them – and now that Doc has increased her ability to help the poor plushes in her life with her Toy Hospital, they were overjoyed that Hero was going to test his own Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Bag. Now we have three doctors in the house!
The Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Bag opens differently – and easier than the original bag – by opening the handles – and has a beautiful design to it – the back is moulded with her name which adds quality to it. Inside are her stethoscope which works with the trademark Doc shimmer, a thermometer, syringe, name badge [which the boys thought was an iPhone] with ribbon lanyard, an otoscope [the one that looks in your ear] and two little sheets of stickers.
No sooner was it out of the box, surgery began. Naturally the best place to play is Mommy’s bed and I found two little patients [apparently Hero is Stuffy] in my bed, being tended to by Doc McJones.
The design of the new bag – it’s so much more detailed and more Disney than the first one.
That the new stethoscope is more like Doc’s in the series.
That Doc has stayed on our screens – unrelated, but we were worried we were going to lose her!
That there were more items in the set – little Doc plasters, bandages, a blood pressure cuff or something a little different to the old set.
The battery lasted a little longer in the stethoscope – and that the stethoscope was a little easier to stay in the ears – it’s very rigid and pops out frequently as it’s not long enough for a six year old to use on a toy without being very close to it.
That the description of the Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Bag didn’t count the two sheets of stickers as two pieces of the set – that felt as though they were overselling what was actually in the pack.
