Arguably the most important meal of the year, Christmas dinner is the one time that we really try to get it right [read: perfect] in our family. Although we’re not turkey eaters [shhh!] and still prefer chicken [and so does our bank manager], we love preparing all of the sides and trimmings that we don’t…
This Christmas was hard. Excalibur had crossed the Rainbow Bridge the day before Christmas Eve leaving us all heartbroken and our plans in ruin. My parents thankfully arrived on Christmas Eve and played with the boys whilst we tried to pull ourselves together and make Christmas happen – and at 3.30a.m on Christmas morning, the…
Hey, friends! Today I’m talking about Pajama Elves – a tradition that’s added a little Christmas magic to something which I do each Christmas anyhow, which is buy new PJs for the boys. When I was little, we had new nightclothes ready for Father Christmas and it was always exciting to have a bubble bath…
Each Christmas since we first moved into our home 12 years ago, The Mister and I have competed against each other in the sausage roll and mince pie stakes. The only judges we’ve had have been ourselves and the huskies which often meant trying to bribe one of them…and despite the fact that I don’t…
One of my favourite categories to shop for at Christmastime is stocking fillers. I just love all of the little bits and pieces that help put a smile on someone’s face but don’t cost the earth. So, here are some of the lovely items we were sent that we thought were just perfect for this post –…
Our Easter Hunt post is sneaking into the blog backdated today as I’m going through my drafts and realising that I never managed to post it. Let’s hope no one notices – I just wanted to put it there so we can look back on it in future. This Easter was special in its own…

I am LOVING all your pictures. We have a place right up the street (literally) that sells trees, so we usually just pick one out and walk it home. I would love to chop one down someday.
That's a great tradition to have! I love the pictures and I am sure he was very excited to get his very own tree. It's a shame that a disease has destroyed all the rest of the trees!
What a beautiful family you have! Living in the city my whole life this is something I never got to experience, like EVER. I can't wait for our move so my daughter can have memories like this. You took such beautiful photos too, a shame you couldn't score a big family tree, but it's nice your boys will have their own tree this year! Lucky!
